PIA marks Pakistan’s Independence with networking gala in Ajman
Consul General in Dubai hails national airline’s community engagement and CSR contributions
DUBAI – Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Sharjah and Northern Emirates office, in collaboration with its General Sales Agent SATA, organised a socio-commercial networking event to mark the 78th anniversary of Pakistan’s independence.
The gathering at the Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel brought together representatives from the travel trade, corporate sector, airlines, Pakistani community and media.

The event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the national anthem. Special prayers were offered for the flood victims in Pakistan as well as for the nation’s prosperity and development. Guests welcomed the initiative, praising PIA for combining cultural celebration with a platform for business networking.
Dignitaries and guests
The Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, honoured the event with his presence. In his remarks, he lauded PIA’s continued role in corporate social responsibility activities while extending greetings on the independence celebration. He later joined community members and trade partners for a cake-cutting ceremony.

Prominent participants from the travel sector included Akbar Travels, Universal Travels, WT Travels & Tours, and SATA. From the corporate side and wider community, names such as Nisar Malik of Niche Marketing, Makhdoom Raees Qureshi of Al-Jazera Group, and Faraz Ahmad of Sharjah Centre were present alongside respected community leaders. A strong presence of media also underlined the significance of the occasion.
PIA’s services highlighted
PIA Sharjah used the opportunity to present details of its products and services for Pakistani nationals, alongside highlighting its loyalty programme for the corporate sector in the UAE. A dedicated presentation was delivered on cargo transportation facilities available from Sharjah to various destinations, capturing the interest of cargo agents and business representatives.
The PIA Sharjah and Dubai team, including Area Manager Zeeshan Ahmed and other senior officials, played a key role in organising the event. At the conclusion, an appreciation shield was presented by Makhdoom Raees Qureshi of the Pak World Dynamic Community Forum Dubai to Zeeshan Ahmed in recognition of PIA’s commitment to the community and its position as a CSR role model airline in the UAE.
